"If we treat our bodies with respect, then we'll have a positive attitude about life, and as a result, be happier in everything we do. I have tried many 'diets' in the past, but never stuck with anything. Bob's plan is the only thing that has worked for me."

| You don't have to join a gym to lose weight (in fact, with a little creativity, you can get a complete workout right at home). But having access to the latest equipment, fitness classes and instructors can speed up your weight loss and keep you motivated. Use these tips to make sure you invest your money wisely:
Make a budget. Figure out how much you're willing to spend on a membership. Cost-saving tips: Check to see if the gym offers any discounts or if they'll waive the initiation fee (they don't usually advertise this, so you'll have to ask). If you have flexibility, you can check into off-peak-hour memberships, which are cheaper.
Go local. The closer the gym, the more likely you are to go. A long commute (more than a 15-minute drive from your house or office) has been your shown to cut down on the number of times you exercise there.
Take a test drive. Take a tour of the facility, or better yet, ask about a complimentary workout pass. That way, you can make sure you're able to do the workout you want, and that the gym is clean and all the equipment works.
Check the schedule. Ask about the gym's hours—if you work crazy hours and have to squeeze in your workouts, you should look for a place that's open around the clock so you have some flexibility. |

If the New Year isn't motivation enough to get going, how about this: For the month of January, we're offering you 10 free days of full access to the Best Life site! You'll get to enjoy our recipes, meal plans, fitness and diet articles, workout videos and more–all with no strings attached.
You'll even have access to our new Food Log, a feature our members are raving about. The new food tool allows for simplified multi-food and recipe look-up. That means instead of having to search for one ingredient at a time from a list of dozens–sometimes hundreds—of options and adding it to your log, you can now enter your entire meal in one area and search all your foods at once on one page. It's the next best thing to reading your mind, which we're working on, too!
